In 1876 the world’s “Tall Ships”, representing most of the world’s nations sailed into New York’s Harbor to kick off America’s Centennial celebration. Again, for America’s Bicentennial, in 1976, TALL SHIPS from the world’s nations were to open the world’s biggest birthday celebration with a grand parade into New York Harbor. A Great Flag, three times bigger than the then world record holder was to welcome them to America’s birthday party.
